Zoe-perry
Perry is she is Chicago native who was born to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first TV roles were two appearances on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on the ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mother. In fear of stress, her parents didn't want to see her pursue acting before she reached the age of 18. Perry claimed she felt timid to perform during high school, but started acting in theater classes at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer to the university from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, moved in New York in search of television roles. Perry was able to land small roles on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness drove her to California for theater roles. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway as a couple for the play The Other Place, in 2013. Her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie together with her in 2015. Perry was a part of nine episodes of ABC's show The Family. In 2017, she starred in a recurring role on her own ABC drama about politics Scandal starring her father. The same year, she portrayed a child model of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother in a youthful version. The role was offered to her in an audition that was open despite having a connection to the role.
